NEW TO RAVEN’S DOJO?

ABOUT RAVEN’S DOJO:

Welcome to Raven’s Dojo! Raven’s Dojo is an action comedy comic told in 32 pg (give or take) issue format! It is NSFW! Immature Content for Mature audiences! READER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.

The series is about Rodney (Earth’s Mightiest Moron!) and Dornail (A supervert dragon). Once Earth’s greatest champions they’re now wiped from humanity’s memory! They’d love to relax and play video games, but evil keeps needin’ its ass kicked! Enjoy their adventures with their pals on their island home living in Raven’s Dojo.

Raven’s Dojo is one of the earliest webcomics. Founded in 1998! It’s initial decade was ROUGH (I was too young), but it’s been solid since 2008! Rodney and Dornail (and many of the Bests) are childhood creations I’ve been drawing since as early as before Kindergarten. I have loved these characters for a long time and Raven’s Dojo is my primary focus.

CAST:

RODNEY: Earth’s mightiest moron! His best Friend is Dornail who he considers his one and only rival. Rodney wants nothin’ more than to fight and have as much fun as possible! More heroic than he might seem, his forgotten past as a legendary hero often comes back to haunt him.

DORNAIL: Supervert dragon! His best friend is Rodney. Dornail is a dragon who loves all things perverse and is a slave to lust. That said he’s smarter than he seems and actually has a keen mind. He and Rodney share a past together as the greatest heroes Earth has known.

SARAH LEE: Baddest Bitch on the planet! Her best friend is Rosetta Stone. Sarah is a moody grouch who doesn’t suffer fools (Often putting her at odds with Rodney and Dornail). However she is more sensitive than it seems and actually has a heart of gold.

ROSETTA STONE: A librarian with a secret! Her best friend is Sarah Lee. Rosetta is a librarian at the St. Zano library by day and a rookie super hero when time allows. She’s still coming to terms with her powers and has taken Rodney’s guidance on as her master (too Sarah’s chagrin).

RAVEN: Owns the island dojo where everyone lives.

AND MANY MORE: The true cast of Raven’s Dojo is far larger than these five! Read on and get ta know them!

FAQ

Q: Should I start at the beginning with Raven’s Dojo?
A: It’s not necessary to start at the beginning. Every issue contains everything you need to enjoy that issue and every story arc contains everything you need to enjoy that arc. You may read the series however you choose.

Q: What is Rodney?
A: Rodney is the only one of his kind and named himself Rodney so it’s most accurate to call him ‘a Rodney’ when referring to what kind of creature he is. It’s quite common to mistake him for an ape (and even a mouse).

Q: Is Dornail a lizard?
A: Dornail is a dragon. He is quite small and weird.. but he thinks of himself as a Dragon. It’s not uncommon for him and Rodney to refer to themselves as ‘human’ or part of ‘humanity’. But they also recognize themselves as a dragon and a Rodney.

Q: What is that red thing on Rodney? (Is it his tongue?)
A: Rodney has a somewhat abstract design, but that is a giant red bow tie he wears. As you read more you’ll see him at different angles, with the bow damaged from a fight, and even more rare is to see Rodney NOT wearing the bow tie.

Q: Can I buy Books (other merch)?
A: Yes. There is a storefront HERE and books and merch are available (as well as digital goods). I am working to create more merch for readers.

Q: Do you make other comics?
A: Yes. Thought Raven’s Dojo is my top priority I have started making side comics here and there. The bulk of my content can be accessed via the digital library for subscribers HERE though in time you will also be able to purchase some of the other work in the store.

Q: May I get a commission?
A: Commissions are typically not available as I am too busy working on comics. That said there are very rare occasions! When it happens I post about it EVERYWHERE.

Q: Do you attend cons?
A: I don’t get to as much as I’d like to! It does happen though. When it does I make sure to announce it in as many places as possible.

Q: Will there ever be another Kickstarter (for books 2-4)?
A: At the moment I am focusing on getting a solid foundation for the dojo’s subscriber aspect and storage space is very limited in my current living situation, but I would very much LIKE to collect the rest of the color books. They will be very expensive so Kickstarter (or another crowd funding option) will likely be necessary. The black and white books will be cheap enough to print out of pocket-though I may handle a crowd funding drive as a sort of preorder.. I’m still feeling it out.

Q: Will Raven’s Dojo ever be in color again?
A: My primary focus is on creating books and printing B&W is much easier. The reader base is small for the time being which makes even crowd funding hard. That said color will return if I can afford to hire a colorist and we are doing well enough that we can easily print the books. For the time being B&W is far more achievable.
